Gum Drops

A generative process is devised - draw a chalk ring around each patch of discarded gum on the sidewalk.

This generative process is applied to multiple blocks of a downtown city center. As it blossoms into form, it creates a map drawn directly onto the landscape. The map reveals patterns of human behavior and interaction within the urban environment.
